The Transat CIC represents the epitome of solo ocean racing. It\u2019s a challenge marked by a series of low-pressure systems sweeping across the North Atlantic, generating headwinds \u2013 a distinctive feature of the race. Initially, the record time for crossing was around 40 days. Now, it has become a sprint, requiring competitors to push themselves and their boats to the extreme. Unlike other east-west transatlantic races, this one does not offer a downwind leg with warm, pleasant breezes following the initial storms.
