Juliette Has A Gun, a French niche fragrance brand, sought to make its first temporary experiential space debut in China. To support this ambition, the brand partnered with the agency to design an immersive pop-up at B1 Taikoo Shanghai, expressing its unconstrained, confident and daring identity.
Context
As niche fragrance gained momentum in China’s prestige beauty landscape, consumers increasingly sought immersive, story‑driven experiences rather than traditional counter displays. However, the brand was still largely unknown locally and faced the challenge of translating its rebellious, unconstrained identity into a physical space that would resonate culturally. Against this backdrop, creating an impactful first experiential presence became a critical step to spark awareness and desirability.
Our ambition
We set out to elevate Juliette Has A Gun as an unconstrained, confident and daring fragrance icon in China by crafting an immersive, sensorial pop-up experience that powerfully expressed its bold, modern and luxurious brand attitude.
Our approach
Altavia orchestrated the full pop-up journey from spatial concept to on-site activation:
- Designed a bold red-and-silver experiential retail concept, integrating interactive storytelling, hero product focus and iconic brand forms into a cohesive spatial narrative.
- Engineered the central perfume-bottle-inspired installation and oversized bottle artwork, including the scented smoke-bubble mechanism for multi-sensory engagement.
- Produced all structural elements, digital interfaces, display fixtures and graphic applications to premium finish standards.
- Coordinated on-site build, technology integration, testing and live operation within B1 Taikoo Shanghai, supervising partners and timelines end-to-end.
Our results
- First experiential pop-up in China successfully launched for Juliette Has A Gun.
- Strong brand immersion achieved through bold colour palette and iconic bottle-inspired installations.
- High visitor engagement driven by interactive “Find Your Juliette” digital journey.
- Playful scented-smoke bubble feature deepened sensory connection with hero fragrances.
This pop-up collaboration reinforced Juliette Has A Gun’s ability to immerse Chinese consumers in a distinctive, daring brand universe.
