Sunday, April 28: Start of “The Transat CIC”, the penultimate solo transatlantic race before the Vendée Globe!

The Transat CIC represents the epitome of solo ocean racing. It’s a challenge marked by a series of low-pressure systems sweeping across the North Atlantic, generating headwinds – a distinctive feature of the race. Initially, the record time for crossing was around 40 days. Now, it has become a sprint, requiring competitors to push themselves and their boats to the extreme. Unlike other east-west transatlantic races, this one does not offer a downwind leg with warm, pleasant breezes following the initial storms. The Transat can be a relentless struggle from start to finish.

After a winter spent in the yard, STAND AS ONE Altavia is primed to tackle this event. The misfortune experienced during the Transat Jacques Vabre has been put behind them, and Éric Bellion along with his team are poised at the starting blocks, ready for a successful race that will serve as preparation for the Vendée Globe this coming November.

Altavia’s 2,800 employees are the crew members of STAND AS ONE, with Éric Bellion as their skipper. They are united in a challenge that reflects their spirit and an adventure that brings them together!
