Context

As part of its strategic evolution, Pathé sought to diversify its entertainment offering by integrating arcade gaming into its cinemas. The objective was clear: create an engaging, immersive space that would enhance the visitor experience while remaining fully autonomous in its operation.

The concept needed to be visually compelling, functionally efficient, and adaptable to a broad audience, from families and casual players to dedicated gamers and retro arcade enthusiasts. The space had to blend naturally into the cinema environment while ensuring effortless daily management for Pathé’s operations teams.

To create an instantly recognizable, engaging, and scalable arcade brand that reinforced Pathé’s reputation as a leader in entertainment innovation.

The space’s design needed to be dynamic and flexible, appealing to diverse audiences while maintaining a plug-and-play structure that could be easily implemented across locations. More than a mere aesthetic challenge, this project required that we ensure an experience that was as hands-on for players as it was autonomous for operators.

Our Approach

Altavia engineered a clear, high-visibility identity designed to attract visitors instantly while reinforcing Pathé’s positioning in interactive entertainment—a natural extension of Pathé’s universe.

The thoughtfully-designed spatial strategy ensured an intuitive flow, balancing engagement and operational efficiency. Segmenting the arcade into distinct gaming zones, we created an experience adapted for all audiences—families, casual players, and retro gaming fans—allowing for broader demographic appeal without sacrificing simplicity.

Our branding approach was inspired by classic theater signage, bonding Pathé’s core identity with the gaming space. Checkered floors, LED accents, and modular structures steadied brand continuity while creating an inviting, immersive atmosphere.

Beyond aesthetics, Altavia Pallas ensured that Pathé Games was built for operational autonomy. Every design choice—from the intuitive wayfinding system to the turnkey installation model—was conceived with Pathé’s teams in mind, while maximizing user engagement. By leveraging our expertise in retail experience design and installation, we delivered a solution that was not only engaging for visitors but also scalable and efficient for Pathé’s expansion strategy.
