Mondadori Store, Italy’s largest and most prestigious bookstore network, operates over 500 locations nationwide and serves 20 million customers annually. It places books at the heart of its brand, complemented by entertainment experiences, events, and multichannel services. As the brand and the world evolve, Mondadori sought to modernize its communication strategy and to engage younger generations, particularly Gen Z, while preserving its iconic cultural heritage.

To support Mondadori Store through this phase of evolution by refreshing its positioning and storytelling. Altavia aimed to bridge the gap between tradition and innovation, delivering solutions that resonate with a digital-savvy audience while upholding the brand’s strong identity and rich heritage as a bookseller.

Omnichannel communication for Italy’s largest bookstore network

Altavia provided comprehensive 360° support to refresh Mondadori Store’s communication and align it with its evolving omnichannel strategy.

Physical and Digital Synergy: We prioritized seamless integration between the in-store experience and digital touchpoints, enhancing brand engagement across channels.
Retail Innovation: For Mondadori’s Duomo Flagship Store, we created spectacular window displays and immersive visual merchandising to amplify the physical experience.

Creator Activations: To connect with Gen Z, we launched targeted campaigns with creators on Instagram and TikTok, promoting initiatives like the Just Comics comic shop and special campaigns like Sapore d’Italia, a curated book by Mondadori Store.

Omnichannel Visibility: We designed and executed custom visibility materials to ensure consistent brand representation across 90 stores involved in activations.
