Context

Founded in 1992, Barn’s Café has grown to become Saudi Arabia’s leading domestic coffee chain, known for its distinctive roasting expertise and consistent product quality. Over the years, it has cultivated a strong base of loyal customers across the Kingdom. Altavia ODG has collaborated with the brand on multiple outlets, including airport and city locations, in support of its expanding footprint.

The Formula 1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix presented an opportunity for Barn’s to align its retail presence with a high-profile international event. The Jeddah Corniche Circuit, with its dynamic mix of global audiences and media attention, became the setting for a flagship café concept rooted in design innovation and strategic visibility.

Our Ambition

We set out to design a space that would express the high performance world of motorsport while staying true to Barn’s Café’s core identity: a refined, accessible coffee experience with Saudi roots.

Our approach
  • To meet this objective, Altavia ODG developed a bespoke concept based on four pillars: perfectionism, aerodynamics, fan inclusion, and advanced materials.
  • The overall layout emulates the feel of an amphitheater or stadium, enabling customers to “spectate” the coffee-making process in a way that mirrors the F1 viewing experience.
  • A monochrome, industrial aesthetic evokes car production facilities and showrooms, reinforcing the link to engineering precision and innovation.
  • The use of satin stainless steel and charcoal neo-cement materials brings a sleek, futuristic character to the space, without visible joints or sharp edges.
  • Seating was redesigned with custom leaning benches, creating a fluid, modern interaction with the environment and encouraging quick visits between races.
  • The end result is a retail café that translates the excitement and identity of F1 into architectural and experiential form, while offering a functional and welcoming space for fans and passersby.
Our Results

– One exclusive retail concept deployed at Jeddah Corniche Circuit for Formula 1.

– Fully custom layout and furniture inspired by automotive and stadium design.

– Integration of F1 fan culture into retail architecture.

– Continuity of Barn’s brand identity within a radically different environment.

This activation reinforced Barn’s Café’s visibility at a high traffic international venue, while showcasing Altavia ODG’s ability to tailor design concepts to ambitious retail contexts.
